VFF’s leaders visited and encouraged the injured players of the U19 HCMC women’s team
On the afternoon of February 13, VFF General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú, representing the leadership of the Vietnam Football Federation, visited and encouraged player Sơn Thị Kiều Nghi from the U19 HCMC women’s team, who is currently receiving treatment for an injury at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. Also present to visit and encourage player Kiều Nghi were VFF Deputy General Secretary and Chairperson of the Organizing Committee for the 2025 ACECOOK U19 Women’s National Championship, Nguyễn Thanh Hà, along with representatives from the VFF’s competition department.
Player Kiều Nghi suffered a fractured fibula in her right leg during the match between Ho Chi Minh City FC’s U19 women’s team and Than KSVN U19 women’s team in the second round of the 2025 ACECOOK U19 Women’s National Championship. The injury occurred after a collision with the opposing goalkeeper. Immediately following the incident, Kiều Nghi was taken to the hospital for imaging and treatment. According to the doctors’ assessment, fortunately, her injury does not require surgery, and it is expected that the young player will be able to return to training after approximately two months.
On behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation and the tournament organizing committee, General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú and Deputy General Secretary Nguyễn Thanh Hà extended their best wishes and encouragement to Kiều Nghi for a speedy recovery so that she can return to playing. The leadership of the VFF emphasized their commitment to providing the best possible support to Kiều Nghi during her treatment and recovery process.
On behalf of the leadership of the U19 HCMC women’s team, Mr. Đào Huy Hùng expressed gratitude for the timely care and encouragement from the Vietnam Football Federation and the tournament organizing committee towards the young player from Ho Chi Minh City. He stated that this support not only serves as a boost for Kiều Nghi’s spirit but also motivates the entire team.
Wishing player Kiều Nghi a speedy recovery and a swift return to the pitch, so she can continue to contribute to Ho Chi Minh City women’s football in particular, and Vietnamese women’s football in general.
