Vietnam Futsal team started the journey in AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022
On the evening of Sep 24, Vietnam futsal team under the guidance of new head coach Giustozzi Diego Raul took a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Kuwait to attend the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022

Before this campaign, the Argentine strategist also selected the best 14 players on the official registration list, of which the majority are still experienced warriors as captain Tran Van Vu, Top 3 Vietnam Golden Ball 2021: Ho Van Y, Chau Doan Phat and Nguyen Minh Tri or Pham Duc Hoa, Le Quoc Nam. The most notable return is pivo Nguyen Dac Huy – the player who was absent from the International Continental futsal Championship 2022 in Thailand at the beginning of September.
In addition to the official list of 14 players, Vietnam futsal team also brings 2 backup players in case a player infected with Covid-19 cannot play. Those are goalkeepers Pham Van Tu and ala Lam Tan Phat.
The AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2022 will take place in Kuwait from September 27 to October 8. 16 teams are divided into 4 groups to compete. The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout round.
According to the schedule in the group stage, Vietnam Team will meet Korea and Saudi Arabia before facing Japan – a candidate for the championship.
The group stage will end on October 2, after that, the teams will enter the quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals on October 4, 6/ and 8 respectively.
