Vietnam national team and U23 national team plan to gather in March 2023
In order to prepare for important tasks in 2023, the national team and the U23 national team of Vietnam will reunite with the first gathering in March.

If nothing changes, after the new head coach officially takes over the job at the Vietnam National Team & U23 National Team, the program of activities of the two teams will also kick-off.
Accordingly, the national team will gather from March 8 to March 12. It is expected that about 28 players will be summoned, of which the core is still the faces who have “battled” at international tournaments recently. The main purpose of this gathering is for players to familiarize with the new philosophy of the new head coach.
Meanwhile, the U23 team will be trained more carefully with 4 periods in March to prepare for the upcoming 32nd SEA Games. In phase 1, the U23 team will gather from March 1 to March 7 with a maximum number of 35 players and 5 goalkeepers. The main purpose of this gathering is to help the new head coach and his associates review and evaluate the quality of the players in order to prepare for the next period.
In phase 2, the U23 team will gather at the same time as the national team, from March 8 to March 12. The number of players will be reduced from the list in phase 1 to 28 players and 4 goalkeepers. This phase mainly helps the new head coach to convey the gameplay and tactics applied to the team, and at the same time continue to evaluate the force for the next period. In phase 2, the U23 national team and the national team may have internal practice matches to serve professional work.
The phase 3 of the national U23 team starts on March 12 and ends on March 17. Like the gathering in phase 2, the team’s list will be reduced to 24 players and 3 goalkeepers. In this time, the team will train with a more in-depth lesson plan and expect to have 1-2 matches against the strong clubs of the V.League.
The phase 4 will also be the final gathering period in March 2023 of the U23 national team. This phase lasts 12 days, from March 18 to March 29 with the force of players almost shaped for the 32nd SEA Games. During this gathering, it is expected that the U23 national team will have a training trip and friendly match in the UAE against quality opponents.
In these periods, the U23 national team will have a flexible addition depending on the performance of U20 Vietnam at the 2023 AFC U20 Asian Cup.
