Vietnam national team travels to Qatar to prepare for the 2023 Asian Cup
At 6:00 a.m. this morning (January 5), members of the Vietnam team moved from the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation to Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) to travel to Doha (Qatar).
At Noi Bai International Airport, procedures, and baggage check-in for the Vietnam team took place smoothly and quickly, bringing comfort to Coach Troussier and his team.
The Vietnam team’s flight takes off at 8:30 a.m., flies directly from Hanoi to Doha, and is expected to land at 5:00 p.m. the same day (Vietnam time), or 1:00 p.m. local time. According to the plan, after arriving in Qatar, coach Troussier and his team will have their first training session here to get used to the climate, weather, and practice field conditions. During this time, the team will have a closed friendly match with Kyrgyzstan on January 9 before finalizing the official list of 26 players on January 13.
Previously, on the afternoon of January 4, coach Troussier announced the Vietnam team list. The Frenchman sent a message to his students: “The players all understand and always respond to my expectations. They strive to protect their national spirit. I believe them. Together, we will achieve the highest results. I believe in the players because they give their best every day. They are not stars, but together, with solidarity, we will try our best.”
The 2023 Asian Cup will take place from January 12, 2024, to February 10, 2024, in Qatar. The Vietnam team is in Group D and will play against Japan on January 14, followed by Indonesia on January 19 and Iraq on January 24.
