AFC WOMEN'S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Vietnam ranked sixth in AFC women’s club rankings for 2025/26 season

Vietnamese women’s club football has been ranked sixth in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s lastest 2025/26 club rankings. This is an important ranking system that the AFC will use to determine seeding as well as qualification slots for the qualifying and group stages of Asian women’s club competitions in the 2027/28 season.

According to the AFC rankings, Vietnamese women’s club football accumulated a total of 68.522 points, with club performance accounting for 44.750 points (70%) and the Vietnam women’s national team contributing 23.772 points (30%).

This achievement reflects the significant progress of Vietnamese women’s clubs on the continental stage, highlighted by Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC and their impressive campaign in the 2025/26 AFC Women’s Champions League. Securing a place among Asia’s top six club football nations also strengthens the position of Vietnamese women’s football within the AFC competition system in the coming seasons.

Australia topped the rankings, largely thanks to Melbourne City FC, who reached the semi-finals of the 2025/26 AFC Women’s Champions League after a flawless group-stage campaign featuring 17 goals scored and none conceded. Japan ranked second following Tokyo Verdy Beleza’s runner-up finish, while Korea Republic placed third with Suwon FC Women making a strong contribution.

DPR Korea recorded the biggest rise in the rankings, as Naegohyang Women’s FC captured the AFC Women’s Champions League title, helping the country climb to fifth place in Asia.

The AFC ranking system is calculated based on clubs’ performances in the 2025/26 AFC Women’s Champions League together with national team points derived from the FIFA Women’s World Ranking published on April 21, 2026.
