Vietnam remain 99th in the world after September 2026 FIFA Days

In the latest FIFA world rankings, released following the September 2026 FIFA Days, Vietnam remain 99th globally with 1,231.29 points.

During the September 2026 FIFA Days, Vietnam competed in the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, recording two wins and two defeats. The results cost the team 6.33 ranking points. However, with their points advantage over the chasing pack intact, Vietnam remained in the world’s top 100.

In Southeast Asia, Thailand remained the region’s highest-ranked side, climbing one place to 93rd with 1,251.42 points. Despite losing 0.85 points after two defeats at the FIFA ASEAN Cup, Thailand retained the regional lead.

Indonesia, champions of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, gained 3.35 points and rose two places to 116th with 1,166.50 points. Vietnam therefore remained second in Southeast Asia, behind Thailand and ahead of Indonesia.

Malaysia ranked 133rd with 1,102.09 points, followed by the Philippines in 136th and Singapore in 149th. Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei Darussalam and Timor-Leste occupied the next positions.

At the top of the world rankings, Spain remained number one, ahead of Argentina and France. Portugal climbed to fifth, overtaking Brazil and Morocco.

FIFA said 338 international matches had been played since the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with their results bringing notable changes to the rankings.

The next FIFA ranking is scheduled to be published on November 18, 2026.
