Vietnam Team starts the first training session, Que Ngoc Hai is looking forward to a challenge with Borussia Dortmund
On the afternoon of November 23, Vietnam Team started the first training session in the campaign towards AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022. The team’s training session did not have enough players because up to 15 players are competing in the National Cup. However, Park Hang Seo’s team still spread a positive atmosphere with optimism and excitement.
Because the players have just gone through a stressful V.League season and the team does not have enough of the necessary force, the first training session took place with a light exercise. Head coach Park Hang Seo mainly lets the players practice to relax the muscles, combined with mini-games to create a fun atmosphere. Some players who have not recovered from injuries such as Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Tien Linh, and Chau Ngoc Quang are trained exclusively by doctor Choi Ju Young. Young defender Nguyen Thanh Binh has software pain, so he will participate in training in the next 1-2 days. Meanwhile, player Nguyen Trong Hoang proved to be quite fit after a long time of herniated disc treatment and returned to the national team.
Veteran center-back Que Ngoc Hai was the first player to give an interview before the training session. As one of the players who accompanied Mr. Park for the past 5 years, Que Ngoc Hai could not hide his emotion when this team’s gathering was also the last gathering under the guidance of Mr. Park as head coach of the Vietnam national team. Que Ngoc Hai added: “In my career, the upcoming AFF Cup is the 5th tournament in a row. I have had the opportunity to work with many coaches. Coach Park Hang Seo is the person with the longest time I have been attached. The person who gave me a lot of advice on the connection between a young player and a player with a lot of experience in the team. At that time, receiving the trust of the coaches, I changed my thinking about playing football, the way I played to everything from inside and outside the field. I always cherish and remember what he taught, so that I can later impart it to young players. If I have the opportunity to be a coach, I also try to convey that to my players. He gave me a lot of advice, but I remember the saying the most: Always go on the field and fight hard. The Vietnamese team belongs to the Vietnamese, always be proud of being a player of the Vietnamese national team, playing in a way worthy of the belief of the Vietnamese.”
In the process of preparing for the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022, Vietnam Team will have 2 international friendly matches: play against Borussia Dortmund Club on November 30 at My Dinh National Stadium and meet the Philippines team on December 14 at the Hang Day Stadium. Que Ngoc Hai is very eager to face the powerful representative from the Bundesliga. “Vietnam is looking forward to the match against Dortmund. They are the biggest club in the world. Dortmund has many familiar players and is watched by a large audience on television. We are very nervous and excited to compete against such a big club. Hopefully, the team will gain useful experience after the match with Dortmund, so that they can learn and prepare well for the AFF Cup 2022. My teammates and I hope that many fans will come to the field to cheer for the match between the Vietnam team and Dortmund club in the next match,” said Que Ngoc Hai.
