Vietnam to host ASEAN women"s football champs

Vietnam was selected by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) to host the regional Women”s Football Championship in September 2008.

This will be the third time Vietnam has organised the event.

However, the AFF will examine the host country”s preparations for the event before making a final decision.

Meanwhile, Vietnam has failed in its bid to host the ASEAN Football Federation Championship (AFF Cup).

The regional football governing body last Saturday announced Thailand and Indonesia as the sites for the competition. Each received eight votes while Vietnam received only six in a confidential vote.
