Vietnam U17 women’s team drew with U18 Shonan in a friendly match in Japan
On the morning of September 12th, the Vietnam U17 women’s team played a friendly match against U18 Shonan as part of their training camp in Japan. The match started at 9:30 AM and was divided into three halves, allowing the coaching staff to evaluate the team’s formation, coordination, and provide playing opportunities for the players.

In the first half, the Vietnam U17 women’s team initially faced difficulties, conceding two goals to U18 Shonan. However, Coach Masahiko Okiyama’s players quickly regained control of the game, scoring successive goals to turn the match around from a 0-2 deficit to a 3-2 lead. The three goal scorers for the U17 Vietnam team were Trương Khánh Chi, Mai Ngọc Ánh, and Đỗ Thị Hà Vi. Before the half ended, the home team equalized, bringing the score to 3-3.
In the second half, both teams continued to play openly. U17 Vietnam added another goal by Lê Thị Bảo Trâm, ending the half with a score of 5-4 in favor of U18 Shonan. During the two halves, the Vietnam U17 coaching staff made two substitutions to test personnel and maintain the players’ stamina.
In the third half, the Vietnam U17 women’s team used an entirely new lineup. U18 Shonan continued to score and take the lead again, but the Vietnamese players persisted in organizing attacks and managed to score an equalizer, ending the half with a 6-6 draw. The two goal scorers for U17 Vietnam in this half were Nguyễn Lê Khánh Đan and Nguyễn Quỳnh Lâm.
This friendly match was an opportunity for the U17 Vietnamese players to accumulate more match experience, while also helping the coaching staff assess each player’s adaptability and test various personnel options for upcoming goals.
