Vietnam women’s futsal team squandered a regrettable victory against Uzbekistan
Despite leading by two goals at times, the Vietnam women’s futsal team allowed Uzbekistan women’s futsal team to equalize 5-5. With 5 points from 3 matches, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang’s team stands second in the CFA “Lanzhou Olympic” Cup Women’s Futsal International Tournament.
On the afternoon of July 15th, the Vietnam futsal team played their final match against the Uzbekistan women’s futsal team in the CFA “Lanzhou Olympic” Cup Women’s Futsal International Tournament. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang’s players got off to a rough start, conceding a goal in the second minute. However, this early setback woke up the Vietnam women’s futsal team, and they performed better afterwards. In the 3rd and 7th minutes, Nguyet Vy and Bui Thi Trang scored two goals to turn the game around, leading 2-1. Nevertheless, Uzbekistan women’s futsal team fought back and quickly scored two goals in the 9th and 10th minutes to take a 3-2 lead.
In their effort to equalize before halftime, the Vietnam women’s futsal team’s efforts paid off with a goal from Thanh Ngan in the 14th minute.
In the first 10 minutes of the second half, the pace of the game intensified as both teams traded attacks back and forth. Sensing that regular play wouldn’t break the deadlock, Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang opted for a power-play strategy. In the 32nd minute, Thanh Ngan’s shot deflected off an opponent and found its way into the net, putting Vietnam women’s futsal team ahead 4-3. Three minutes later, she scored again with a beautiful free-kick to extend the lead for her team.
With a 2-goal advantage seemingly securing victory for the Vietnam women’s futsal team, Uzbekistan women’s futsal team executed their own power-play strategy in the remaining time and managed to score two goals to level the score 5-5. This result ultimately ended the match in a draw.
Thus, at the conclusion of the CFA “Lanzhou Olympic” Cup Women’s Futsal International Tournament, the Uzbekistan women’s futsal team finished first with 7 points from 3 matches. Vietnam women’s futsal team secured second place with 5 points, and player Thanh Ngan, with 6 goals, was awarded the title of “Player of the Tournament.”
