Vietnam Women’s National Football Team continues to lead Southeast Asia in the FIFA rankings for the first quarter of 2025
As of the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking (as of March 6, 2025), the Vietnam Women’s National Football Team continues to hold the top position in Southeast Asia and is ranked 6th in Asia.
With 1614.43 points, the Vietnam Women’s National Football Team maintains its position at 37th in the world, with no change in rank or points. Meanwhile, Thailand faced a setback, dropping two places to 47th after consecutive losses in the Pink Ladies Cup 2025. Indonesia made an impressive rise, climbing three spots to reach 94th in the world. Singapore dropped slightly by one place to 139th, while Laos made progress, moving up one spot to 107th.
Other teams in the region, such as the Philippines (41st), Myanmar (55th), Malaysia (102nd), Cambodia (118th), and Timor Leste (159th), maintained their rankings.
In the Asian arena, Japan has emerged as a standout, rising three spots to break into the world’s top 5 with an additional 25.52 points, further solidifying its leadership in the region. The Japanese team not only secured a spot in the top 5 but also marked its first return to the top group since December 2015.
The remaining teams in the Asian top 5 are North Korea (9th), Australia (16th), China (17th), and South Korea (19th).
Globally, the FIFA rankings for March 2025 recorded a record number of teams, with 196 teams listed. Notably, Djibouti made its debut, starting at 195th. The U.S. team remains at the top despite a 1-2 loss to Japan in the SheBelieves Cup final.
Following closely behind the U.S. are Spain (2nd), Germany (3rd), and England (4th), while Sweden (6th), Canada (7th), and Brazil (8th) each dropped one spot. North Korea (9th) and the Netherlands (10th) maintained their positions in the top 10.
