Vietnam women’s national football team gears up for training camp in the Czech Republic
Starting from the afternoon of August 18, after gathering at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, Coach Mai Duc Chung and the players began training to regain their form after a short break since the conclusion of the Women’s National Championship – Thai Son Bac Cup 2024.

Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi and the players from Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Football Club, including Tran Thi Thu Thao, Chuong Thi Kieu, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan, Cu Thi Huynh Nhu, Nguyen Thi Kim Yen, and Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, will join the team after completing some tasks at their club. Forward Huynh Nhu will also join the team on August 23.
In the FIFA rankings for August 2024, the Vietnam women’s national team continues to lead Southeast Asia with 1,611.3 points (unchanged from before, ranked 37th in the world), ahead of Thailand (1,520.62 points, dropping one position to 47th). Meanwhile, the Philippines have 1,557.58 points (ranked 39th).
This month, Indonesia is the Southeast Asian team with the most significant rise, advancing 3 positions to 104th place. Meanwhile, the Cambodia women’s team has dropped 2 positions to 119th.
At the continental level, the Vietnam women’s team is ranked 6th in Asia, behind Japan, DPR Korea, Australia, China, and South Korea.
