According to the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking, the Vietnam Women’s National Team have maintained their position at 37th in the world, sixth in Asia and first in Southeast Asia, with no change from the previous edition.

At the global level, Spain remain at the top of the ranking, extending their lead over second-placed the United States to nearly 80 points. Germany hold third place after winning both of their home friendlies. Among the top 10 teams, Denmark were the only side to change position, climbing two places to 10th and returning to the top 10 for the first time since August 2010.

The latest update follows 183 international matches, including European and African qualifying matches for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, African qualifying matches for the women’s Olympic football tournament, and numerous international friendlies.

Malawi were the biggest climbers, rising 49 places to 104th in the world. Their run to the final of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 for the first time in their history, and positive results in recent competitions helped them gain 158.44 points, a record increase for the team.

Several other African teams also made significant progress. Cameroon climbed nine places to 62nd after winning WAFCON 2026. Tanzania rose 11 places to 111th, while Burkina Faso moved up nine places to 109th. Meanwhile, Slovenia climbed two places to 36th, the highest ranking in the team’s history.

In contrast, Egypt dropped 14 places to 113th after failing to earn any points in the WAFCON 2026 group stage. Zimbabwe fell nine places to 136th, while the Democratic Republic of the Congo dropped eight places to 114th.

Vietnam’s continued presence at 37th in the world, sixth in Asia and first in Southeast Asia reflects the team’s consistent standing in the FIFA Women’s World Ranking and provides a foundation for pursuing further progress in the development of women’s football in Vietnam.
