Vietnam Women’s national team targets to join in the FIFA Women World Cup 2023

This year 2021 is an important year with Vietnam women’s football – the year of Women Asian Cup 2022 Qualifier and FIFA Women World Cup 2023 Qualifier. VFF Vice Permanent President Tran Quoc Tuan argued that VFF has the initiative to adjust the domestic competitions schedule to let the women team having more training time and longer preparation. As the plan, the women’s team will gather on Jul 17 with more than 30 players. After the training period, head coach Mai Duc Chung will select the best players going to Tajikistan to join in the Asian Cup Qualifier.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan stated that the target of the women’s team is the winner of the group to join in the Asian Cup and getting the chance to play in the World Cup 2023. Besides the domestic training, VFF also contacted other federations. If possible, the women’s team will have some friendly matches overseas.
