Vietnam women’s U20 team starts training at Viet Tri, Phu Tho
On the afternoon of January 4, the Vietnam women’s U20 under the guidance of head coach Akira Ijiri had the first training session at the Provincial Sports Complex Training Ground to get the best preparation for the First Qualifier – 2024 Asian Women’s U20 Asian Cup.
During the training session this afternoon, Japanese strategist Akira Ijiri and his associates spent a lot of time getting the players familiar with the grass and weather conditions in Viet Tri. Immediately after the warm-up, the 38 young players were divided into two groups to practice speed, agility and control of the ball in a tight range. At the end of the session, the coaching assistants led the players to compete against each other in order to find faces suitable for the tactics and styleplay of coach Akira Ijiri.
After today’s training session, the Vietnam women’s U20 will have about 10 more practice sessions at the Provincial Sports Complex before completing the first training camp in 2023. This is one of important training period for coach Akira Ijiri to get the best preparation for the First Qualifier of Group F – AFC Women’s U20 Asian Cup 2024 taking place at Viet Tri Stadium from March 4 to March 12, 2023. At the same time, it is also a very good opportunity for many young players to improve themselves and get impressive performances after not having played much at the AFF U18 Women’s Championship in August 2022.
