Vietnamese referee was selected as candidate for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021
On Jan 25, FIFA announced the list of 76 referees have been selected as candidates for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021. Referee Truong Quoc Dung is the only Vietnamese referee in this list.
These candidates will join in the project “Road to Lithuania” before working in the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2021. This project aims to prepare each candidate in the best possible way for this important FIFA competition and to ensure uniformity regarding the interpretation of the Futsal Laws of the Game. The first part of this process will be organized from February to August 2021 as online seminars. In these seminars, performances in local and international competitions, as well as areas of improvement, will be discussed.
Depending in the situation, a physical seminar might be considered where we can meet the candidates personally and execute an intensive programme (technical and physical). The final selection of 38 World Cup referees will be made in August 2021.
Vietnamese referee Truong Quoc Dung used to be worked in World Cup Futsal 2021 Colombia. This was the first time Vietnam joined in this tournament and passed the stage group.
