Vietnam National Football Team honoured with Third-grade Labour medal

Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam – Nguyen Thi Doan, on behalf of President, has signed the Decision no. 1489/QD – CTN to present Third-grade Labour Medal for Vietnam National Football Team with the purpose of prasing the achivement of gaining the championship of South East Asia Football Championship – AFF Suzuki Cup 2008. Head Coach Henrique Calisto & 6 national players also have this honour.

The victory of Vietnam National Football Team at AFF Suzuki Cup 2008 had made very exciting atmosphere in the whole 3 main areas of Vietnam. The “Gold Stars” had overcome a difficult journey to gain glory, beat 2 strong opponents who were considered candidates for the tournament’s championship, firstly current champions – Singapore in semi-finals and then, the co-hosting team – Thailand in finals, the team marked their name in history and brought unlimited happiness to millions of Vietnamese supporters, as well as contributed to the promotion of a strongly raising Vietnam in the integration and development process.

The wonderful success of the national team derives from the talent of “magician” Calisto, aspiration and couragement of players. Therefore, in addition to the Third-grade Labour Medal for the national team, 6 national players & Head coach Calisto also receive this honour including: Goal keeper Duong Hong Son, Center back Vu Nhu Thanh, Midfielders Nguyen Minh Phuong, Phan Van Tai Em, Striker Le Cong Vinh.
