Win for Hanoi ACB, B. Binh Duong beaten
Three goals in the second half saw Hanoi ACB notch up an impressive 3-1 opening day win over Malaysian side Kedah in Group G of the AFC Cup on Tuesday…
Playing in the competition for the first time in their history, the Hanoi side put their domestic league struggles behind them to pick up all three points against their Malaysian rivals.
Hanoi dominated the opening exchanges, with Camposfailing to take his opportunity to open the scoring in the 10th minute, but as the half wore on Kedah pulled themselves back into the game, hitting the woodwork on two occasions.
But the second half was a different story as Hanoi took complete command of proceedings.
Midfielder Goran Gajic gave the home side the lead in the 65th minute after a good combination with right-back Nguyen Hai Nam and, just one minute later, midfielder Thanh Luong doubled his team’s advantage thanks to a well-struck long range effort.
With one minute on the clock, Campos finally put his name on the score sheet before Badrol Bin Bakhtiar claimed a consolation for Kedah, scoring with an accurate finish from just inside the box.
In the meantime, Vietnamese champions B. Binh Duong started their AFC Cup Group H campaign with a hard away encounter against Singapore side, Home United. The score at the end was 2-1 in favour of the homesters.
