Women’s team focus on the key mission of 2021
Jan 03, the Women’s National team gathered to prepare for the key mission of 2021.
Hence, 31 players who gathered in this period at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre almost come from clubs such as Than KSVN, HCM City, Hanoi, and Hà Nam. In the first period, there are 4 players of HCM City coming late 1 day because of the schedule at the university included: Lê Hoài Lương; Trần Thị Thu Thảo; Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Anh; and Trần Thị Kim Thanh.
Talk about youth players, head coach Mai Đức Chung said that: “This camp is an opportunity for youth players to practice and get familiar with the training of the national team. They are potential players. The U19 team has some players who used to play well with national players. They need more time to practice with senior players and gain more experience”.
“3 weeks after the national championship, the players almost had a gap, just a few players maintained lightly practicing. Therefore, their force is getting low. At this time, I will focus more to push their physical strength and tactics ability”.
Talk about the plan for 2021, head coach Mai Đức Chung stated that: “All tournaments are waiting. After Lunar New Year, if the Covid-19 pandemic will be controlled, the women national team will have some camps and hope that we can do some overseas camps to prepare for AFF Cup, AFC Championship Qualifier, and SEA Games 31”.
About the way to World Cup 2023, head coach Mai Đức Chung said that: “It will be difficult because our opponents included Thailand, China Taipei, Iran, Uzbekistan, or India, they are improving day by day. Our team needs to quickly develop”.
The sessions of the team will take place in January at Vietnam Youth Football Training with 2 sessions/per day.
