AFC WOMEN'S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC are placed in Pot 2 for the quarterfinals of the 2025/26 AFC Women’s Champions League.

According to a recent announcement from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC will be placed in Pot 2 along with Nasaf FC (Uzbekistan), Suwon FC (Korea Republic) and Stallion Laguna (Philippines).

After the group stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League (AWCL) 2025/26 concluded on November 23, 2025, Vietnam’s representative, Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC, finished runners-up in Group A, thereby securing a place among the top eight clubs in Asia.

In the previous continental season—the inaugural edition of the AWCL—Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC also advanced from the group stage as runners-up, but were placed in Pot 1 at that time. This change is due to the tie-breaking criteria applied among the group runners-up. In the first season, Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC had a superior goal difference, whereas in the 2025/26 AFC Women’s Champions League, the Vietnamese side recorded a lower goal difference than Naegohyang FC (DPR Korea), the runners-up of Group C, and were therefore seeded in a lower pot.

Specifically, Pot 2 consists of Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC (Vietnam), Nasaf FC (Uzbekistan), Suwon FC (Korea Republic) and Stallion Laguna (Philippines).

Meanwhile, Pot 1 includes Melbourne FC (Australia), Wuhan Jiangda (China PR), Tokyo Verdy Beleza (Japan) and Naegohyang FC (DPR Korea).

The quarterfinal draw of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2025/26 is scheduled to take place on January 15, 2026. The quarterfinal matches will be held on March 28 and 29, 2026, at the home venues of the Pot 1 teams.
