At Thanh Long Stadium, reigning champions Ho Chi Minh City I faced their younger counterparts, Ho Chi Minh City II, in the opening match of the tournament. As expected, head coach Doan Thi Kim Chi opted to rest several key players on the bench in order to preserve her squad.

Without star striker Huynh Nhu, Ho Chi Minh City I had to wait until the closing stages of the first half to break the deadlock. In the 41st minute, Cu Thi Huynh Nhu produced a clinical finish to put her side ahead. The defending champions went into the break holding a narrow 1-0 advantage.

After the restart, Ho Chi Minh City II continued to display great determination and made life difficult for their senior counterparts. It was not until the 70th minute that Dau Nguyen Quynh Anh doubled the lead for Ho Chi Minh City I. From that point on, Ho Chi Minh City II struggled to cope with the relentless attacking pressure. K’Thua netted a brace, while Phan Thi Trang also found the target, as Ho Chi Minh City I sealed an emphatic 5-0 victory.

The match at Ha Dong Stadium between Hanoi I and Hanoi II followed a similar pattern. Hanoi I took the lead in the first half through Le Thi Trang, who opened the scoring for her side.

In the second half, an own goal by Nguyen Thi Linh made the task even more difficult for Hanoi II. Thanh Thao managed to pull one back and score a consolation goal, but the youthful Hanoi II side could not withstand the pressure and conceded three more times.

Nguyen Thi Hang netted a brace, while Pham Hai Yen also got on the scoresheet, helping Hanoi I secure a convincing 5-1 victory over Hanoi II.

The 6:00 PM match at Thai Nguyen Stadium between Thai Nguyen T&T and Phong Phu Ha Nam ended in a 1-1 draw.

The home side took the lead in the 73rd minute through Ngoc Minh Chuyen (No. 8). However, just three minutes later, Vu Thi Hoa (No. 6) found the equaliser for Phong Phu Ha Nam, ensuring that both teams shared the points in their opening fixture of the season.
