Vietnam’s Kim Sang-sik to lead ASEAN All-stars in landmark match against Manchester United FC
– The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) proudly announces that Coach Kim Sang-sik, the highly respected and championship-winning head coach of Vietnam’s national football team, will take the helm of the ASEAN All-Stars Team in the upcoming Maybank Challenge Cup – a historic international friendly against Manchester United Football Club, scheduled for 28 May 2025 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Malaysia.
The VFF extends the contract with Technical Director Koshida Takeshi
On February 12, 2025, a contract extension ceremony took place at the Vietnam Football Federation headquarters between the VFF and Mr. Koshida Takeshi (Japanese nationality). Accordingly, Mr. Koshida Takeshi will continue to serve as the Technical Director of the VFF for the tasks in 2025.
Opening Ceremony of the 2025 National Futsal Referee Training Course
On the afternoon of February 11th, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) organized a training course for referee assessor and referees participating in the 2025 National Futsal Championship. The opening ceremony was attended by VFF Vice President Trần Anh Tú, Chairman of the Arbitration Committee Đặng Thanh Hạ, along with 53 referees and 10 match commissioners.
100% of referees passed the physical fitness test ahead of the 2025 National Women’s and Youth Football Championships
On the afternoon of February 5th, at the Hanoi Athletics Stadium, a physical fitness test for referees of the 2025 National Women’s and Youth Football Championships was held. As a result, 83 out of 83 (100%) male and female referees successfully passed this important test for the new season.
The opening of the 2025 Referee Monitoring Training for Female and Youth National Football Tournaments
From February 4th to 7th, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is holding a training session for Referee and Referee Assessors of the 2025 National Women’s Football and Youth Football Tournaments before the competitions begin.

On the morning of February 3rd, the first working day after the Lunar New Year holiday, the leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation organized a meeting to wish a Happy New Year and assign tasks to the officials and staff of the VFF office. Attending the event were VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan, Secretary General Nguyen Van Phu, the General Secretariat, and all officials and staff of the VFF office.

On the morning of January 20, on behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation’s leadership, Deputy General Secretary Nguyen Thanh Ha met and wished a Happy New Year to the coaching staff and players of the U14 and U16 national women’s football teams, before the two teams took the Tet holiday.

On the afternoon of January 15, Comrade Bùi Văn Quang – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Phú Thọ Provincial People’s Committee, held a meeting with the President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Trần Quốc Tuấn, to evaluate the results of organizing the 2024 ASEAN Football Championship, which took place at the Việt Trì Stadium in Phú Thọ province, and to discuss the planned cooperation program for 2025.

The event took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere. It was an occasion to honor the efforts and contributions of the players, coaching staff, and the entire team.

On the afternoon of December 17, at the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Non-Professional Leagues Referee and Match Official Training took place.
Vietnam will have 3 new FIFA referees starting from 2025
The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has continued to approve the list of FIFA referees and assistant referees, both male and female, from Vietnam. As a result, starting from 2025, Vietnam will have three new representatives: referee Trần Ngọc Ánh, assistant referee Nguyễn Thị Kim Tuyền, and Futsal referee Lê Thị Yến Thảo.
