The Vietnam Beach Football team is preparing to participate in the 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup
The Vietnam Beach Football team, led by head coach Mai Văn Đức, will gather on February 25 in Da Nang to prepare for the 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup.

The Vietnam Beach Football team for their return to the continental arena will primarily consist of players from Da Nang FC, the reigning champions of the National Beach Football Championship. Along with Khanh Hoa, Da Nang FC is one of the two teams with the best performance in the history of the tournament since its inception in 2009.
Among the 20 players called up, many familiar faces with extensive experience in beach football stand out, such as Trần Kim Trung – the top scorer of the 2024 National Beach Football Championship, Trần Ngọc Bảo – the best player of the 2024 National Beach Football Championship, as well as Trần Vĩnh Phong, Nguyễn Anh Quang, Lê Quý Long Vỹ, Phan Đạt, Hồ Quốc Hưng… These players are all well-known members of the Vietnam Beach Football team.
According to the plan, the Vietnam Beach Football team will train in Da Nang starting from February 25. Before departing for the 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup, the team will finalize the official squad, which will consist of 12 players, in accordance with the regulations of the competition.
The 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup will feature 16 teams, divided into 4 groups, with each group containing 4 teams. According to the draw, Vietnam’s team is placed in Group D alongside Oman, Bahrain, and Malaysia. This is a tough group for Vietnam, as both Oman and Bahrain are among the top teams in Asian beach football, while Malaysia is also considered a strong contender, having reached the quarterfinals twice in their 4 consecutive appearances at the tournament.
In the group stage, teams will play in a round-robin format, earning points and ranking according to FIFA’s beach football rules. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.
The tournament will take place from March 20 to March 30, 2025, at the Jomtien Beach Football Arena in Pattaya, Thailand. The top 3 teams of the competition will represent the continent at the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
