On the morning of 1 November, the Vietnam futsal team departed for Kyrgyz Republic to begin an overseas training camp and a series of international friendly matches as part of their preparations for upcoming major competitions.
According to the schedule, in the Kyrgyz Republic, head coach Diego Giustozzi and his players will play two friendly matches against the host nation’s futsal team at the KFU Sports Complex in Bishkek. The first match will kick off at 21:00 on 3 November, followed by the second at 20:30 on 5 November (Vietnam time).
On 6 November, the team will travel to Russia for two further friendly matches against the Russian futsal team at the Meshchersky Sports & Recreation Complex in Nizhny Novgorod. The matches are scheduled for 20:00 on 8 November and 23:00 on 10 November (Vietnam time). The team will return to Vietnam on 11 November, concluding the training tour.
Assessing the opponents, head coach Diego Giustozzi noted that the Kyrgyz Republic has made notable progress in Asian futsal, while Russia has established itself as a top team on the world stage. These matches will provide valuable tests, allowing Vietnamese players to assess their abilities, gain experience and improve their competitiveness at international level.
“I want the players to prove that they have the mentality and ability to compete at international level. I even want them to make mistakes during the matches, because that is an opportunity to learn and develop. I am not too concerned about the results of the four friendlies. What matters more to me is what the players learn and how they improve from one match to the next,” said head coach Diego Giustozzi.
Following the training tour, the players will return to their respective localities to compete at the National Sports Games, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from 20 to 29 November, before reassembling to continue preparations for the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG 6).
