Women’s AFC Club Championship 2024/25 (Group C): Urawa Red Diamonds welcomed
On the afternoon of October 3rd, the next visiting team for the 2024/25 AFC Women’s Club Championship, Urawa Red (Japan), arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) to prepare for the matches in Group C.

The Urawa Red Diamonds club arrived in Vietnam with 21 players and 15 coaching staff members. At Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the Urawa Red players stood out with their physiques and impressed with their professional training equipment. After more than an hour of immigration procedures, the entire team was assisted by volunteers with their luggage and quickly transferred to a bus heading to Park Royal Hotel.
According to the schedule, after checking in and settling into their accommodations, the Urawa Red team will hold their first training session at Phu Tho Stadium at 4:00 PM on the same day to acclimate to the weather in Ho Chi Minh City.
In Japan, Urawa Red Diamonds has won the women’s football championship two consecutive times. Under the guidance of coach Naoki Kusunose, they have also secured the League Cup and the Empress’s Cup in recent years. The team boasts several quality players, including Miki Ito, Hana Takahashi, Yuika Sugasawa, and Hanae Shibata. Urawa Red Diamonds is also known for frequently contributing players to the Japanese women’s national team.
In Group C, Urawa Red Diamonds is highly regarded as a strong contender for the top spot, known for their scientific, coherent, and effective playing style, as well as their impressive match mentality. In their opening match on October 6th at Thong Nhat Stadium, the Japanese representatives will face Odisha FC at 3:00 PM.
