Women's U-16 National Championship

Draw for the schedule of the 2026 National U16 Women’s Football Championship

On the morning of April 28, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the draw for the schedule of the 2026 U16 Women’s National Football Tournament was held online. Representatives of the four participating teams attended the event via an online connection.

Attending and speaking at the event were Mrs. Nguyễn Thanh Hà – Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee (BTC), along with representatives from some functional departments such as Competition Organization, Communications, and the Office.

In her speech at the draw ceremony, Mrs. Nguyễn Thanh Hà stated that the draw marks an important initial step for the tournament, helping the participating teams proactively develop their preparation plans, finalize their squads, and aim for high-quality, exciting, and competitive matches.

The tournament organizing committee is confident that, with the active preparation of the teams, close coordination with the host unit and related agencies, the 2026 U16 National Women’s Football Championship will be lively, on schedule, of high professional quality, and continue to affirm its important role within the development strategy of Vietnamese women’s football.

On this occasion, the VFF and the organizing committee sincerely thank the teams for their active preparations; express gratitude to the host unit, Son La, and related agencies and organizations for their close cooperation in organizing the event.

This year’s tournament features the participation of four teams: Hanoi, Phong Phú Hà Nam, Son La, and Ho Chi Minh City — localities and units with a tradition of and always investing in women’s football. The decision by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to award the hosting rights to Son La not only facilitates the professional organization of the event but also helps promote the women’s football movement to various localities, especially in mountainous regions.

According to the plan, the tournament will take place from July 19 to March 8, following a double round-robin format at the centralized venue in Son La, with points accumulated to determine the overall rankings. The champion team will receive a trophy and a cash prize of 100 million VND.

Based on the draw results, the opening matches will be between Phong Phú Hà Nam vs. Ho Chi Minh City and the host Son La vs. Hanoi. Detailed information about the match schedule, including specific times, will be announced by the organizing committee soon.
