Before the matches, the Organising Committee held a ceremony marking the 10-year partnership between the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and Vietnamese futsal at the Chanh Hung Ward Futsal Club Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Vu Hai Quang – Vice President of VOV and Deputy Head of the Organising Committee of the 2026 National Futsal Championship – said that the 10-year journey alongside Vietnamese futsal has been a meaningful and emotional milestone for VOV. He expressed pride in not only contributing to the successful organisation of national competitions, but also accompanying the development of a sport full of ambition, helping bring futsal closer to the public.

For his part, reflecting on the development of Vietnamese futsal in recent years, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Tran Anh Tu, highly appreciated the role of the domestic league system in the overall growth of the sport.

“We have not only qualified for the AFC Finals but also continued to progress further, maintaining our position among the leading teams in Asia. In particular, the domestic competitions have become an important training environment, helping many young players develop and directly contribute to the national team in recent years,” Vice President Tran Anh Tu emphasized.

On this occasion, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded a Certificate of Merit to the Centre for Advertising and Media Services under VOV in recognition of its positive contributions to the development of Vietnamese futsal.

Back to on-field action, the clash between Luxury Ha Long and Thái Sơn Nam TP.HCM attracted significant attention as it marked the first match of former national futsal team player Tran Van Vu in his role as head coach of the team, while also marking the return of pivot Nguyen Minh Tri.

Against a clearly weaker opponent, the defending champions had little difficulty securing a dominant 10-1 victory. Thinh Phat opened the scoring in the 7th minute before Italo Henrique (Bob), Gia Hung, Thai Huy, Van Hoai, Thanh Phong, Minh Man, and Ngoc Linh all added their names to the scoresheet. Luxury Ha Long’s only goal was scored by Hung Thinh.

The emphatic win allows Thái Sơn Nam TP.HCM to temporarily put pressure on Sahako in the race at the top of the standings.

However, Sahako responded strongly in their clash with Ho Chi Minh City Youth Team. The “Three-legged Crow” took an early lead in the 7th minute through a goal from Minh Luong. In the 17th minute, Dang Hung doubled the advantage for the home side.

In the second half, Sahako continued to control the game, and in the 37th minute, Nie Kdam scored to seal a 3-0 victory. The result helps Sahako maintain second place in the standings, while also drawing level on points with league leaders Thai Son Bac.

However, Thai Son Bac still have a chance to extend their lead when they face Hanoi in the matchday on June 22.
