In the early match at Ham Rong 4 Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City Football Club defeated Song Lam Nghe An 2-0. In the 23rd minute, Đậu Quang Hưng was brought down inside the penalty area by a Song Lam Nghe An defender, prompting the referee to immediately award a penalty to the southern side. From the spot, Nguyễn Lê Quang Khải calmly converted to give his team the lead.
The advantage was doubled in the 34th minute when, following a goalmouth scramble, Đậu Quang Hưng reacted quickest to fire home from a tight angle. Chu Ngọc Nguyễn Lực struck twice (42′, 85′), while Võ Đức Đạt (45′), Trần Mạnh Quân (54′), Nguyễn Khắc Minh Đức (72′) and Bùi Phi Hùng (90′) also found the net to complete the dominant win for the capital side.
