U17 National Championship 2026 drawing ceremony
On the morning of May 28, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the draw ceremony for the fixture schedule of the 2026 National U17 Football Championship Qualifiers took place.
At the opening of the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau – VFF Deputy General Secretary and Head of the Organizing Committee – emphasized the important role of youth development in Vietnam football’s long-term strategy. According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau, the National U17 Football Championship serves as a vital platform for young players to develop their skills, gain competitive experience, and help identify promising talents for the national youth teams.
The Head of the Organizing Committee also noted that Vietnam U17 national team’s first-ever qualification for the FIFA U17 World Cup further affirms the right direction of Vietnamese football in its youth development efforts.
The 2026 National U17 Football Championship Qualifiers will feature 28 teams representing clubs, football training centers and sports talent schools nationwide, including: An Giang, Becamex TP.HCM, Cong An Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City FC, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Ha Noi, Nutifood Football Academy, Hai Phong, Hue, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Lam Dong, LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Ninh Binh, PVF, PVF-CAND, Quang Ngai, SHB Da Nang, Song Lam Nghe An, Tay Ninh, The Cong Viettel I, The Cong Viettel II, Gia Lai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, Khanh Hoa Sports Training and Competition Center, Thong Nhat Sports Training Center, Thep Xanh Nam Dinh and Vinh Long.
According to the competition regulations, the 28 teams are divided into five groups and will compete in a double round-robin format to determine the standings. The opening matches are scheduled to kick off on June 16 at the designated host venues. At the conclusion of the qualifying stage on July 9, the five group winners, five runners-up and the best third-placed team will secure qualification for the Final Round of the 2026 National U17 Football Championship.
Group A (Hanoi): Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, PVF-CAND, The Cong Viettel I.
Group B (Hung Yen): Cong An Ha Noi, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Song Lam Nghe An, The Cong Viettel II, Thep Xanh Nam Dinh, PVF.
Group C (Hue): Dak Lak, Quang Ngai, SHB Da Nang, Gia Lai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, Hue.
Group D (Gia Lai): Dong Nai, Nutifood Football Academy, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa Sports Training and Competition Center, Thong Nhat Sports Training Center, LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai.
Group E (Ho Chi Minh City): An Giang, Ho Chi Minh City FC, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh, Vinh Long, Becamex TP.HCM.
The fixture schedule for the 2026 National U17 Football Championship Qualifiers will be announced by the Organizing Committee in the near future.
