AFC Grassroots Football Day 2026 spreads community spirit in Gia Lai
On the afternoon of May 23, in Vĩnh Thạnh Commune, Gia Lai Province, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), in coordination with local partners, organized the AFC Grassroots Football Day 2026. The event not only provided an engaging playground for children but also promoted the positive values of football in connecting communities, inspiring healthy lifestyles, and sharing with the younger generation.
The program took place at Vĩnh Thạnh football field with the participation of 150 students from the commune and surrounding areas, alongside children from SOS Children’s Village Quy Nhơn. The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the Gia Lai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Gia Lai Football Federation, the People’s Committee of Vĩnh Thạnh Commune, and SOS Children’s Village Quy Nhơn.
Attending the program were Mr. Đinh Khắc Diện, President of the Gia Lai Football Federation; representing Vĩnh Thạnh Commune were Mr. Đinh Drin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council; Mr. Lê Minh Thông, Chairman of the People’s Committee; and Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Trường, Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee.
More than just a sporting playground for children, the festival created opportunities for participants to interact, make new friends, and take part in age-appropriate physical activities and football skill games in a joyful, united, and energetic atmosphere. Through football, the program aimed to spread positive values such as teamwork, sharing, discipline, and healthy living, while ensuring that all children, regardless of their background or living conditions, had the opportunity to play, develop skills, and grow in a well-rounded environment.
