Youth Women’s Football Festival: Spreading passion and inspiring the next generation
On June 14 and 15, 2026, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will organize the Youth Women’s Football Festival 2026 in Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces. The event is part of FIFA’s Women’s Football Development Programme in Vietnam and aims to promote women’s football, inspire young people, and encourage greater participation in football activities, particularly among girls.
Through a variety of interactive activities, football games, and hands-on experiences, the Youth Women’s Football Festival aims to create a fun, positive, and inclusive environment where girls can engage with football, develop a love for sport, and gain the confidence to pursue their passion. At the same time, the event helps promote the positive values of FIFA’s Women’s Football Development Programme in Vietnam, contributing to the growth of women’s football across communities nationwide.
Beyond its community impact, the Festival also serves as an important platform for identifying, assessing, and nurturing talented young female players emerging from school and grassroots football programmes. In doing so, it contributes to building a strong pipeline of future players for Vietnamese women’s football.
Over the years, Vietnamese women’s football has achieved remarkable success at both regional and continental levels. To sustain and build upon these achievements, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has consistently prioritized investment in youth talent identification and development. The Youth Women’s Football Festival is regarded as one of the Federation’s key grassroots initiatives, expanding access to football for girls while helping to discover promising talents for the national women’s youth development system.
The Youth Women’s Football Festival 2026 will feature eight U14 girls’ football teams from schools and community football centres in each host locality. Each Festival is expected to attract approximately 180 participants.
In Dong Thap, the event will take place at the football field of Dong Thap University. Meanwhile, the Festival in Vinh Long will be held at Hoang Viet Football Ground in Tan Thanh Binh Commune. Activities will include friendly matches, fun football-related games, skills assessments, and player identification sessions, creating an engaging and educational environment for young girls who are passionate about football.
Through the Youth Women’s Football Festival 2026, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) continues to reaffirm its commitment to developing women’s football from the grassroots level, expanding talent identification networks, and progressively enhancing the quality of the player development pathway for women’s football in Vietnam.
