Closing ceremony of the AFC/VFF ‘C’ Coaching Certificate Course in Hai Phong: Step by step towards self-sufficiency in coach education
On April 8, the closing ceremony of the AFC/VFF ‘C’ Coaching Certificate Course took place in Hai Phong. The course was held from March 27 to April 8, 2026, organized by the Vietnam Football Federation in coordination with Hai Phong Football Club and the Hai Phong Football Federation.

The course once again affirmed the effective and close coordination among stakeholders in coach education. Notably, this was the first time a Vietnamese instructor team independently delivered the entire program and organized the course, marking a significant step toward full self-sufficiency in providing coaching certifications from C to B, A, and Pro levels in the future.
The course also saw the participation of international trainees, continuing a trend in recent years in which coaches from countries such as Japan, Spain, and Portugal have registered, further reinforcing the quality and reputation of coach education in Vietnam.
Attending the closing ceremony were Mr. Dang Van Son – Standing Vice President of Hai Phong Football Club; Mr. Nguyen Huu Huong – Chief of Office of the Hai Phong Football Federation, along with instructors, assistant instructors, and all course participants.
Speaking at the ceremony, instructor Tran Duy Quang praised the participants for their serious learning attitude throughout the 13-day course, while emphasizing the significance of Vietnamese instructors gradually mastering the training program, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnamese football.
Assistant instructor Nguyen Luong Phuc acknowledged the trainees’ efforts and their spirit of mutual support, expressing hope that after the course, the coaches will effectively apply their knowledge to youth training at the local level, thereby contributing to grassroots football development.
On behalf of the participants, goalkeeper Nguyen Van Hoang shared that the course provided valuable in-depth knowledge, helping to reshape perspectives on youth coaching, while also commending the dedication of the instructor team.
Performance analyst Marcelo da Silva also expressed his impression of the course quality, considering it an important foundation for developing the next generation of players for Vietnamese football.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Huu Huong emphasized the role of coaches in shaping and building the foundation of youth football, expressing his hope that participants will effectively fulfill their roles in their localities after the course. Meanwhile, Mr. Dang Van Son stated that Hai Phong Football Club is always ready to cooperate and create favorable conditions for organizing future training courses.
The AFC/VFF ‘C’ Coaching Certificate Course in Hai Phong concluded successfully, contributing to improving the quality of coaching human resources and moving toward the goal of developing Vietnamese football in a professional, sustainable, and internationally integrated manner.
