Vietnam U17 beat Shinpyeong 4-2 to conclude training camp in Korea

Vietnam U17 secured a 4-2 victory over Shinpyeong in their final training match of the camp in Korea on the afternoon of 28 October, completing an important phase of preparations ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup 2026.

Shinpyeong are a high-achieving South Korean high school football team, having won the 2026 National High School Football Spring Championship. They provided quality opposition, giving Vietnam U17 another opportunity to assess their squad and test tactical options.

Shinpyeong took the lead in the 10th minute. However, Vietnam U17 quickly restored parity when Sy Bach made a run down the right flank, beat his marker and delivered a low cross for Dai Nhan to finish from close range, making it 1-1. Quy Vuong then scored to put Vietnam U17 ahead 2-1. Before half-time, Shinpyeong were awarded a penalty and converted it to level the score at 2-2.

After the break, coach Cristiano Roland’s players continued to take the initiative and added two more goals. Tri Dung scored in the 68th minute to make it 3-2, before Manh Quan found the net in the 76th minute to seal a 4-2 victory for Vietnam U17.

As in the previous training matches, the Vietnam U17 coaching staff prioritised testing players, assessing the team’s tactical execution and improving coordination among squad members, rather than focusing on the result.

According to the plan, the team will return to Vietnam on 29 October and continue training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre. On 6 November, Vietnam U17 are expected to travel to the UAE for a training camp and friendly matches before heading to Qatar for the FIFA U17 World Cup 2026 Finals.
