Youth Women’s Football Festival 2026 promotes the growth of women’s football in Dong Thap
On the afternoon of June 14, at the football field of Dong Thap University, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), in cooperation with relevant partners, organized the Youth Women’s Football Festival 2026 as part of FIFA’s Women’s Football Campaign Programme. The event provided a valuable and enjoyable platform for young female players while contributing to the continued development of grassroots women’s football in the province.
Attending the Festival on behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) was Mr. Luu Quang Dien Bien – Director of the Grassroot, Coaching Education and Affiliated MAs.
Representing the Dong Thap Football Federation were Mr. Ngo Be, President of the Dong Thap Football Federation, and Mr. Vuong Thanh Trung, General Secretary of the Dong Thap Football Federation.

Representing the host institution was Mr. Truong Tan Dat, Rector of Dong Thap University, along with representatives from provincial departments and agencies of Dong Thap Province, as well as coaches and players participating in the Festival.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Luu Quang Dien Bien, on behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), expressed his appreciation to the authorities and organizations in Dong Thap Province for their cooperation and support in ensuring the successful organization of the event. He emphasized that the Youth Women’s Football Festival not only provides a healthy and meaningful platform for girls who are passionate about football, but also helps promote positive values such as teamwork, self-confidence, determination, and an active lifestyle.
Highlighting the strong potential for the development of women’s football in the province, Mr. Luu Quang Dien Bien noted that Dong Thap possesses many favorable conditions for identifying and nurturing young talents who could contribute to the future of Vietnamese women’s football.

Mr. Ngo Be, President of the Dong Thap Football Federation, affirmed that the Youth Women’s Football Festival 2026 is a meaningful initiative that contributes to the development of the women’s football movement throughout the province. He expressed his hope that the Festival would inspire more girls to take up football and create a strong foundation for the continued growth of women’s football in Dong Thap in the years ahead.


On this occasion, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) presented the participating teams with training and competition equipment, including footballs, markers, playing kits, and a variety of meaningful gifts for the players.
Following the opening ceremony, the teams took to the field for a series of exciting matches. The Festival featured four clubs: Cao Lanh, Tan Hong, Thuong Phuoc, and Hong Ngu. Each club entered two teams, which were divided into two groups for the competition.
The matches were played in an enthusiastic and lively atmosphere, providing young players with valuable opportunities to interact, learn from one another, and showcase their footballing abilities. Many participants demonstrated promising qualities in terms of technical skills, game awareness, and competitive spirit, highlighting their potential for future talent identification and development programmes aimed at building the next generation of women’s football players in Vietnam.

The teams produced a number of exciting and competitive matches throughout the Festival. After overcoming several strong opponents, Hong Ngu 1 advanced to the final, where they faced Thuong Phuoc 2.
Featuring a squad with several technically gifted players and strong teamwork, Hong Ngu 1 secured a convincing 3-0 victory. Vo Thi Ngoc Vy scored twice, while Le Ngoc Tien added the other goal, helping Hong Ngu 1 claim the championship title at the Youth Women’s Football Festival 2026 in Dong Thap.
Meanwhile, Cao Lanh 1 and Cao Lanh 2 finished as joint third-place teams.

The Youth Women’s Football Festival 2026 in Dong Thap not only created an exciting atmosphere on the pitch but also helped inspire a love of football among young girls, providing further motivation for local communities to continue developing women’s football at the grassroots level. The Festival is one of the practical initiatives within the VFF and FIFA strategy for women’s football development, aimed at building a strong foundation of young talent for the future.
According to the schedule, the Youth Women’s Football Festival 2026 will continue in Vinh Long on June 15.
