Attending the opening ceremony were: Vuong Quoc Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Sports Administration; Tran Anh Tu, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF); Nguyen Trung Kien, Vice President of the VFF; Do Van Nhat, VFF Executive Committee Member and Head of the VFF Women’s Football Department; Tran Anh Minh, Member of the VFF Executive Committee; representatives from the VFF Women’s Football Department and Referees Department; leaders of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; experts and coaches; sponsors FPT Telecom and Dong Luc Group; as well as members of the Local Organising Committee.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Thanh Ha, Deputy General Secretary and Co-Head of the Organising Committee, emphasised that the National Women’s Cup Football Tournament has been held since 2019 and has increasingly affirmed its position within the national competition system. Through each season, the quality of the tournament has continued to improve, making an important contribution to the development of the women’s football movement and the strengthening of the Vietnamese women’s football force.
Nguyen Thanh Ha, Deputy General Secretary and Co-Head of the Organising Committee, expressed her confidence that with the thorough preparations of the Organising Committee and the host unit, the determination and competitive spirit of the participating teams, the support of sponsors, and the enthusiastic encouragement from fans, the 2026 National Women’s Cup Football Tournament would be held in an exciting and attractive atmosphere, showcasing the spirit of fair play, sportsmanship, and dedication.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Organising Committee expressed their sincere appreciation to the participating teams for their active preparations for the tournament; to Thai Nguyen Province and the relevant authorities for their close coordination in hosting the competition; to FPT Telecom, the tournament’s sponsor and media partner; and to Dong Luc Group, the official ball sponsor. The VFF and the Organising Committee also extended their gratitude to the media agencies, press members, and fans for their continued support of Vietnamese women’s football.
Prior to the opening ceremony, the early match at 4:00 pm saw Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC secure a 2-1 victory over Hanoi I Women’s FC, making a positive start to their campaign.
Following the opening ceremony, the next match of the opening day featured the hosts Thai Nguyen Women’s FC against Hanoi II Women’s FC, scheduled to kick off at 7:00 pm at Thai Nguyen Stadium.
