Draw Ceremony for the 2026 National Women’s Football Cup
On the morning of April 15, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held an online draw ceremony for the 2026 National Women’s Football Cup, with the participation of representatives from the six teams competing in this year’s tournament.
The National Women’s Football Cup is one of the key competitions in the domestic women’s football system, continuing to serve as an annual platform to maintain match rhythm, improve professional quality, and provide clubs and players with opportunities to gain experience toward the long-term goals of women’s football in Vietnam.
According to the plan, the 2026 National Women’s Football Cup will take place from May 13 to May 27, 2026 at Thai Nguyen Stadium. This is a new host venue compared to previous editions, marking the strong support and commitment of the local authorities to the development of women’s football.
Speaking at the draw ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha – Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Head of the Organizing Committee – emphasized that the National Women’s Football Cup is one of the key competitions in the national football system, contributing to maintaining a regular playing platform, improving professional quality, and creating favorable conditions for teams and players to continue developing and showcasing their capabilities.
She also expressed her appreciation to the participating teams for their active preparations, extended thanks to Thai Nguyen province and relevant departments for their coordination and support in organizing the tournament, and conveyed sincere gratitude to media agencies and fans for their continued support of women’s football in Vietnam.
According to the draw results, the six participating teams are divided into two groups:
Group A: Thai Nguyen T&T (runners-up), Hanoi II, and Phong Phu Ha Nam.
Group B: Ho Chi Minh City (defending champions), Hanoi I, and Than Khoang San Viet Nam.
The 2026 National Women’s Football Cup is expected to continue as a high-quality and competitive tournament, playing an important role in developing the player pool and enhancing the overall standard of women’s football in Vietnam at present.
