Before the training session on the afternoon 2nd Dec of U22 Vietnam, midfielder Tran Thanh Son shared: “We also received the information about the storm, however, it does not affect the competition spirit of the team. Of course, the rain also affects the tactics and the ability of the players. However, I think it doesn’t matter, our team now ready for the match with Singapore. We have a good spirit after the victory over Indonesia. We are determined to beat Singapore to get closer to the semi-finals”.

When asked about the U22 Singapore, Tran Thanh Son said: “The strongest of Singapore is the competitive spirit. In addition, they have a very dangerous striker Fandi Ahmad Ikhsan (9). However, we will try with all our abilities.

About the storm, leader of U22 Vietnam delegation Nguyen Si Hien said that until now, he has not received any information about the delay of the match. However, he also affirmed that: “We have a plan for the worst situation”.

At the training session on 2nd Dec, head coach Park Hang-seo divided the team into 2 groups. The group including the players who did not play in the match with U22 Indonesia only focused on the rest and recover. Meanwhile, the group of other players practiced with high-pressure lesson including the lesson about teamwork and tactics.

The match between U22 Vietnam and U22 Singapore will start at 19:00 on 3rd Dec at Rizal Memorial stadium. If win, the team of head coach Park Hang-seo will be more close with the semi-final of SEA Games 30. However, the current situation of Group B is still very complicated with the competition of 3 teams including U22 Vietnam, U22 Indonesia, and U22 Thailand. Because when calculating the rankings of the teams by points, then goal difference will be prioritized, so even defeat U22 Singapore, but losing to U22 Thailand in the last round, Park Hang-seo’s team may still have to stop the game. Hence, in order to ensure the change at SEA Games 30, U22 Vietnam needs to get 4 points in the next matches of Group B.
