Women National Cup 2022’s drawing ceremony
On the morning of July 20, at the VFF’s house, the drawing ceremony of the 2022 Women’s National Cup was organised with the attending of representatives of the participating teams.
Delegation included: Mr. Do Van Nhat – Deputy Chairman of Women’s Football Committee; Mr. Le Hoai Anh – General Secretary, Chairman of the organisation committee; Mrs. Nguyen Thanh Ha – VFF Deputy GS, Deputy Chairperson of the organisation committee; and representatives of function departments. On the host centre – Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre, there was Mr. Truong Hai Tung – Centre’s Director, Deputy Chairman of the organisation committee. The ceremony also had the attending of representatives of the participating teams and press agencies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Hoai Anh – General Secretary, Chairman of the Organisation Committee said: “For the purpose of creating more tournaments for women’s football, helping players have more conditions to compete together, and to experts and coaches select resources for the national teams, VFF has made efforts to organise the National Cup throughout since 2019. In the fourth year of organisation, the number of participants in the Women’s National Cup has raised to 8, including Hanoi I, Hanoi II, Phong Phu Ha Nam I, Phong Phu Ha Nam II, Ho Chi Minh City I, Ho Chi Minh City II, KSVN Coal and Thai Nguyen T&T”.
According to the draw results, Ho Chi Minh City I, Hanoi II, Phong Phu Ha Nam II and Thai Nguyen T&T are in Group A. Meanwhile, Group B has teams Hanoi I, HCMC II, Phong Phu Ha Nam. I and Than KSVN. It can be seen that Group B promises many dramatic matches when having 3/4 strong teams. Hanoi I is the defending champion of the National Cup. The main formation of Phong Phu Ha Nam I also helped the team to win third place last year. Meanwhile, Than KSVN is considered an unpredictable opponent when this team has won third place in the women’s national championship for 3 consecutive years.
On August 6, the 2022 Women’s National Cup will kick off at the field of Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre (VFF). The group stage took place from August 6-14, the teams competed in a round-robin to choose the top 2 for next phase. On August 18, the winner of Group A will meet the runner-up of Group B in the first semi-final; The second place team of Group A will meet the top team of Group B in the semi-final 2. The match for 3rd/4th place and the final will take place on August 21.
