30 teams participate in the 2023 National U17 Championship Qualifiers
In the exciting atmosphere when V.League 1 officially opened with the first match taking place over the weekend, the national youth league system is also preparing to enter the new season, promising the class’s brilliance of next generation for the club. The first is the 2023 National U17 Championship with the participation of 30 teams in the qualifying race.
Based on the number of teams registered to participate, the organizers divided 30 teams into 6 groups, 5 teams each. As follows:
– Group A (hosted by Viettel Sports Center) includes: Hanoi police, Hoa Binh, Nam Dinh, PVF, Viettel.
– Group B (hosted by Thanh Tri Sports Center) includes: Dong A Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, Hung Yen, Phu Tho, Song Lam Nghe An.
– Group C (hosted by Hue Football Union) includes: Binh Dinh, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Quang Nam, SHB Da Nang, Hue.
– Group D (hosted by Hoang Anh Gia Lai Sports Joint Stock Company) includes: Binh Thuan, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Khanh Hoa, and Hoang Anh Gia Lai.
– Group E (hosted by Binh Phuoc Sports Training and Competition Center) includes: Becamex Binh Duong, Long An, Tay Ninh, Tien Giang, Binh Phuoc.
– Group F (hosted by Thong Nhat Sports Center) includes: An Giang, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Ho Chi Minh City.
Teams will compete in two round-robin (First leg – second leg) at the host locality, calculating ranking points in each Group. 06 first place teams, 05 second place teams with the best results in six groups will win the right to the finals along with the team that gets straight into the finals as the host of the finals. If the host team of the Finals finishes the Qualifier with a place in the group of 06 First-placed Teams and 05 Second-placed teams with the best results in six Groups, the second best-placed team will qualify for the finals.
At the finals, 12 teams will be divided into 3 groups, 4 teams in each group, playing round-robin in each group to calculate ranking points. 03 First-placed Teams, 03 Second-placed Teams and 02 Third-placed Teams with best results from the three groups advance to Quarterfinals, Semi-finals, and Finals.
As planned, the first leg of the qualifying round will take place from February 9 to February 19, 2023, the return leg will take place from February 22 to March 4, 2023. The finals will be held from March 11 to March 24, 2023.
The draw to schedule the matches for the qualifying groups will be held on February 7 at the hosting locations.
