Hanoi wins the 2024 National U16 Women’s Football Championship
Impressive form in the second half of the season propelled Hanoi to win the 2024 National U16 Women’s Football Championship.
29/07/2024 09:26:33Holding a points advantage before the last two matches, Hanoi was confident in their ambition to secure the top position. In a crucial match in Round 9, the capital team quickly took control against Than Khoang San Vietnam (Than KSVN). In the 3rd minute, Nguyễn Thị Thanh Lam showcased her exceptional skill with a clever play and a precise shot to score.
The players under coach Phùng Thị Minh Nguyệt continued to maintain their advantage and put pressure on their opponents. Before the end of the first half, Hà Huyền Mai extended Hanoi’s lead to 2-0. Late in the second half, Thúy Hòa scored to reduce the deficit to 1-2 for Than KSVN, but Hanoi ultimately emerged as the overall winner.
In the final match, Hanoi faced TP.HCM and needed a victory to secure the championship. However, TP.HCM’s defense was solid and made it difficult for Hanoi to break through. Yet, from a momentary lapse in concentration, Ngọc Ánh seized the opportunity to score and put Hanoi ahead. This scoreline was maintained until the end of the match.
In the remaining matches, Thái Nguyên only managed two draws, one against TP.HCM (1-1) and another against Phong Phú Hà Nam (2-2).
In the final standings, Hanoi claimed the championship, Thái Nguyên finished as the runner-up, and Phong Phú Hà Nam took third place.
