After their initial two victories in the tournament, Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu gained significant confidence and aimed to secure a win against Quảng Ngãi. Coach Liêm Thanh’s team quickly took control of the match. However, the Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu strikers struggled with finishing and missed several dangerous scoring opportunities.

In the 45th minute plus one, Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu was awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area. Nguyễn Lê Quang Khôi took a powerful and precise free kick, opening the scoring for Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu. In reality, goalkeeper Gia Lộc had little chance to save it, and the first half ended with the Southern team holding the advantage.

In the second half, Quảng Ngãi, unwilling to accept defeat, pushed forward to seek an equalizer. In the 55th minute, after a corner kick from a teammate, Mạnh Dũng scored a stunning goal to level the score at 1-1 for Quảng Ngãi.

Coach Phan Thanh Huy recognized that his team was not superior to their opponents. A draw was still a commendable effort for Quảng Ngãi. Unfortunately, they could not maintain their level of play until the end of the match. In the 90th minute plus two, Xuân Chương scored a technical goal to seal a 2-1 victory for Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu. With this win, Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu secured all three victories and topped Group B.

In the remaining match between Thể Công Viettel and TP.HCM, both teams understood that only a victory would secure their progression to the next round. In the 15th minute, Thanh Hải scored to open the scoring for Thể Công Viettel. Towards the end of the first half, Văn Hiếu doubled the lead for the military team. In the second half, Thanh Bình managed to score a goal for TP.HCM, but the team ultimately had to accept a 1-2 defeat against Thể Công Viettel.

At home, PVF dominated SHB Đà Nẵng and quickly took the lead with a goal from Văn Dương in the 11th minute. By the 30th minute, PVF had extended their lead to 3-0 with a goal from Hùng Minh and another strike from Văn Dương. In the 38th minute, Trọng Phong scored to make it 4-0 before halftime.

In the second half, SHB Đà Nẵng’s efforts were rewarded when Nguyễn Đặng Lê Ngọc scored a consolation goal for the team from Da Nang. However, PVF added three more goals, concluding the match with a 7-1 victory and maintaining a perfect record in the group stage.

With the necessity of a win to have any chance of advancing, Đồng Nai played with determination against Hanoi Training and Competition Centre. In the 33rd minute, Tấn Khoa brought hope to the Southern team by scoring the opening goal. He executed a precise finish to beat the opposing goalkeeper, thanks to the efforts of his teammates.

In the second half, Hanoi Training and Competition Centre tried to find a way to equalize but were unsuccessful. The attacking efforts of the team from the capital did not yield any results. Đồng Nai, on the other hand, defended deeply to protect their lead and secured a 1-0 victory. As a result, Đồng Nai unexpectedly claimed the second place in the table and advanced to the next round alongside PVF.
