AFF U23 Championship 2022, Head coach Dinh The Nam: “U23 Vietnam strives to reach the highest achievement…”
Speaking at a press conference before the AFF U23 Championship kicked off, head coach Dinh The Nam affirmed that U23 Vietnam will play to the best to hopefully achieve the best possible results.
At noon on February 13, the organizers of the AFF U23 Championship 2022 held an online press conference. Speaking at the press conference, Vietnam U23 head coach Dinh The Nam said: “I think U23 Vietnam like many other teams has a very thorough preparation process. U23 Vietnam has more than a month of focusing and practicing together.
Talking about the team’s goals, the head coach of U23 Vietnam expressed: “Many teams come here with high goals. U23 Vietnam will do their best to aim for the highest possible goal. We also see this as an opportunity for the players to have the chance to gain experience and prepare for the future, because in our squad there are many players under the age of 21.”
Along with the online press conference with the U23 Vietnam coach, there was also the head coach of the two teams in Group C including U23 Thailand and U23 Singapore. When asked about the ambition of the home team, the Thai U23 coach said that their team first counted the matches of the group stage.
Coach Salvador Garcia said: “In the immediate future, we are counting on the match against Singapore U23. I want the players to prepare well for this game by practicing on the field, studying the opponent. Obviously, Thailand U23’s goal against Singapore U23 is a win. After that, we will watch the match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Singapore to assess the strength of U23 Vietnam so that we can have a reasonable strategy for the final match of the group stage.”
For his part, the Singapore U23 coach announced the bad news that many key players were positive for Covid-19 so they could not go to Cambodia. “Unfortunately, before leaving, we had 4 good players with Covid so we could not come here to play. However, this is an opportunity for me to give the opportunity to other players to play to gain experience for the future,” coach Nazri Nasir informed.
