ASIAD 19 women’s football: Vietnam won over Bangladesh 6-1
Vietnam recorded a strong 6-1 win over Bangladesh in the second match of the 19th Asian Games (ASIAD) women’s football event on September 25 in Wenzhou, China.
The Vietnamese players dominated the game from the opening minutes. Hai Yen opened the scoring in the sixth minute after receiving a ball from Tran Thi Duyen.
The second goal was made in the first half thanks to Thuy Hang in the 33rd minute.
The Bangladeshi team attacked in the second half and caused several difficulties for Vietnamese players.
In the 56th minute Khatun of Bangladesh had the ball in the net of Vietnamese side, however the goal was disallowed because of offside.
Four more goals went to Vietnam and were scored by Tran Thi Duyen in the 65th minute, Bich Thuy in the 71st and 81st minutes, and Thai Thi Thao in the 78th minute.
Bangladesh earned a consolation goal in the final minutes. The game ended 6-1 in favour of Vietnamese side.
This comes after Vietnam defeated Nepal 2-0 in their opener. Moving forward, they will face Japan on September 28 in the final match of the group stage.
ASIAD 19 commenced on September 23 and the event is scheduled to last through to October 8 in Hangzhou, China. The 504-strong Vietnamese sporting delegation, including 337 athletes, will compete in 31 out of the 40 sports available.
So far, Vietnamese athletes have won a total of one silver medal and four bronze medals at the regional sporting event.
