Head coach Park Hang-seo: U23 Vietnam will try to bring the happiness for fans
Speaking at the press conference before the matches of group A Men’s Football SEA Games 31, head coach Park Hang-seo affirmed thật the U23 Vietnam will try their best to bring the happiness to the fans.

Head coach Park Hang-seo shared: “SEA Games 31 is hosted by Vietnam. We are the defending champion in the Philippines 2 years ago. Vietnamese expected on us. Therefore the players have some pressure. However, we will try with the highest responsibility to bring happiness to Vietnam’s fans”.
He added: “Our preparation is quite good. For me, this is the final tournament with U23 Vietnam. I will try hard with the highest spirit and responsibility”.
Evaluated the first match with U23 Indonesia, head coach Park Hang-seo said: “2 years ago, U23 Vietnam faced U23 Indonesia in the final match. We won and lift to the championship. However, this time, the Indonesia team changes their head coach. Recently, they got many achievements. I know that many people are looking at the achievements of U23 Indonesia. In addition, even though we come from the same country – Korea, I don’t worry. I am the coach of U23 Vietnam and he is the coach of U23 Indonesia. We have the responsibility to work for the team that we are in charge of. I will try my best for this match.
Talking about the U23 Indonesia, head coach Park Hang-seo said: “U23 Indonesia have some players joining in the AFF Cup last year. They also have players who are playing oversea such as Netherland, England, and Korea. With the formation like that, adding the overage players, they are a strong team. They are stronger than in the last tournament. We don’t know which tactics they will use in the match with Vietnam. We have many plans to have a good match with U23 Indonesia. Based on the situation, I will make a plan and solution for the match”.

“The last match between Vietnam and Indonesia 3 years ago, I watched on TV. That is great while head coach Park Hang-seo is doing well in Vietnam. In the upcoming match, I and he will try to do our best in our role”.
“In the last matches in my role as head coach of Indonesia team, I could say that Vietnam is better than Indonesia. But in this SEA Games, we added some good players. I am confident to have a better result for Vietnam in the future. My players are also confident about that”.

Head coach Norman Fegidro JR (U23 Philippines):
“Vietnam and Indonesia are strong teams in the group. But Philippines also have a development. I believe that the U23 Philippines have a chance to join in the next round”.
“Recently, we didn’t have many matches or tournaments due to the Covid-19. We have just come back for 3 months with small local matches. However, in this time, we believe our players adapted. Hope that our players will have a good performance”.
HLV Fabio Maciel da Silva (U23 Timor Leste):
“I don’t think that Indonesia and Vietnam are the strongest teams. I am not sure that they can pass the group stage. Football is on the field. We can make a surprise. In 8 matches recently with Cambodia, Korea, Philippines, and Vietnam,… we only lost to Korea. U23 Vietnam also drew in 90 minutes with U23 Timor Leste. We believe in our players. We can join in the semis. I know Vietnam and Indonesia are strong teams. But I believe in ourselves. The biggest problem for us is the recovery time for players”.
“Last year, the tournament couldn’t be held due to the covid-19 pandemic. But we spent the whole year practicing. In this tournament, we face strong teams. However, our opponents are timing and schedule. Players don’t have much time to recover with 2 days per match. Some people don’t believe that we can play well this time. But I totally believe in a good result for Timor Leste in this tournament”.
Head coach Velizar Emilo Popov (U23 Myanmar):
“We are relaxed without the pressure to defend the medal or any achievements. Therefore, the players will play with the most comfortable spirit. We respect all opponents in our group as well as work hard to get the points, thereby having the best result”.
The matches in group A Men’s Football SEA Games 31 will kick-off from May 06 to May 15 at Viet Try Stadium, Phu Tho. The two best teams will join the semi-final.
