Opening of the 2025 National U16 Women’s Championship: Reigning Champions Hanoi Start Strong with Big Win
Hanoi dominated the match and secured a convincing victory over Son La in the opening round of the 2025 National U16 Women’s Football Championship.

The opening match of the tournament featured reigning champions Hanoi facing off against Son La — a team making their return after a period of absence. Hanoi quickly asserted their dominance from the opening minutes.
In the 14th minute, Hai Yen opened the scoring with a stunning free-kick from over 30 meters out. Despite goalkeeper Mai Huyen’s effort, she couldn’t keep the ball out. Just four minutes later, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh doubled the lead with a long-range effort that deflected off a Son La defender, wrong-footing the keeper.
In the 40th minute, a handling error by Son La’s goalkeeper gave Ha Vy the perfect chance to head in from close range, making it 3-0 for the title holders. In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Ha Yen Nhi capped off a dominant first half with a beautifully controlled long-range strike from outside the box, sending Hanoi into the break with a 4-0 lead.
In the second half, Son La showed more determination and improved focus in defense. Coach Luong Van Chuyen’s players created some chances but were unable to convert them into goals.
In the 69th minute, Thu Ha sealed the 5-0 victory for Hanoi with a close-range finish. It was a dream start for coach Nguyen Thi Muon and her team in the 2025 National U16 Women’s Football Championship.
In the later match of the day, U16 PP Ha Nam claimed a 1-0 victory thanks to a lone goal from Minh Anh, securing all three points on the opening day of the tournament.
