The Prime Minister sent a congratulatory letter to the Vietnam U23 men’s football team successfully defending the Gold Medal at the 31st SEA Games

In the letter, the Prime Minister shared: On the evening of May 22, we witnessed great moments when Vietnam’s national U23 men’s football team successfully defended the Gold Medal at the 31st SEA Games. Every citizen was excited. Effort, intelligence, bravery, resilience, solidarity, discipline, because of the country spirit, brought the team victory. It is the victory of Vietnamese spirit of unity and convergence.

Today’s excellent performance, together with the Gold Medal of the women’s football team and the achievements of sports competing at the 31st SEA Games have affirmed the position of Vietnamese football in particular, and Vietnamese sports generally in the region and gradually reaching out to the world. The Party and Government will continue to pay more attention and hope that organizations, individuals and business communities continue to support and accompany to develop the country’s sports in general and top sports in particular.

In the joy of winning today, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the national fans who have always accompanied the men’s and women’s teams. Special thanks to the coach, the coaching assistants has devoted all their heart, wisdom, overcoming difficulties to lead the team to victory. I request the Central Committee of Emulation and Commendation, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant ministries and agencies to promptly propose appropriate forms of reward to players, coaches of football teams and excellent teams and individuals in other sports and we will organize an award ceremony right after the end of SEA Games 31.

Once again, I send my warmest congratulations, best wishes for health and happiness to Head Coach Park Hang Seo, coaching assistants and the Vietnamese national U23 men’s football team. I think the football matches were over, but we all still want to chant the slogans “Great Vietnam”, “Vietnam wins”, “Vietnam is the champion”…
