The women’s U16 National Championship 2022 kick-off on Sep 27
Preparing for this tournament, on the morning of September 26, the Organizing Committee conducted a cordination meeting and drew a draw to schedule the match at the VFF’s house (Hanoi).

The delegation included Mrs. Nguyen Thanh Ha – Deputy General Secretary, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee; Mrs. Nguyen Thu Ha – Head of Media Department, Member of the Organizing Committee; Mrs. Ngo Thi Phuong Thao – Deputy Head of Competition Department, Member of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Le Manh Ha – Deputy Head of Arbitration Department, Mrs. Hoang Thi Hai Yen – Deputy Chief of Office and match comissioner, referee, the representative of the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center – the host and representative of 4 teams participating in the tournament.
Speaking at the meeting, Mrs. Nguyen Thanh Ha – VFF Deputy General Secretary, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee welcomed the four teams to attend the tournament. Mrs. Nguyen Thanh Ha said: “In 2021, the National Women’s U16 Championship cannot be held due to the influence of the Covid epidemic, entering the 7th year, the tournament is continuing to affirm its importance in the competition system of youth national tournaments. Currently, in Asia, there are not many football federations that organize national youth tournaments like VFF. This is a great effort of VFF, helping young players have a practice environment, strengthen their abilities, and gain more experience to be able to become players to attend national women’s tournaments and attend international events. This is also an important foundation for the national team, contributing to the development of Vietnamese women’s football.”
Nguyen Thanh Ha, on behalf of VFF’s leaders, thanked localities for their efforts to maintain and develop young women’s football teams and affirmed: “In the role of management and organization, VFF will try the best to organize the tournaments; Thank to the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center for always actively supporting the organization of a number of non-professional tournaments of VFF. Wish the teams play actively and achieve high results; The officers of the organizing committee completed their tasks, and the organization of the tournament was successful.”
Participating in this year’s tournament are 4 teams: Hanoi, Phong Phu Ha Nam, Son La and Ho Chi Minh City; The women’s players are aged between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2008. In particular, this year’s national U16 Women’s Football Championship allows registration of up to 3 17-year-old players (born in 2005); allowed to play 02 17-year-old players in the formation.
Teams will compete in a round-robin (first leg and second leg) to get points and rank the whole tournament at the stadium of the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, from September 27 to October 13. At the 2022 National U16 Women’s Football Championship, in each match, teams are allowed to replace up to 06 players in a maximum of 03 substitutions; Each half is 35 minutes.
According to the draw results, the opening match will be a competition between the Son La women’s U16 team and Hanoi’s U16 women’s team, taking place at 17:00; The match between U16 women Phong Phu Ha Nam and U16 women Ho Chi Minh City started at 15:00 on the same day.
The matches of the tournament are expected to be broadcasted on Youtube Onsports and VFF Channel (VFF) as well as on the Fanpage of VFF.
