U17 Hanoi crowned champions at the National U17 Championship – Thai Son Nam Cup 2025
Overcoming U17 Thep Xanh Nam Dinh with a dramatic 3-2 scoreline after a thrilling chase in the final held on the afternoon of June 29 at Ba Ria Stadium, U17 Hanoi were crowned champions of the National U17 Championship – Thai Son Nam Cup 2025, successfully defending their title.
U17 Hanoi started the match with great confidence, pressing their opponents right from the opening minutes. Within the first 15 minutes, goalkeeper Quang Truong’s goal was put under constant threat with at least four dangerous chances. However, the lack of finishing precision from Hanoi’s attackers meant the opening goal did not come.
Against the run of play, U17 Thep Xanh Nam Dinh unexpectedly took the lead in the 18th minute. From a quick attack down the right wing, the ball rebounded after a clearance attempt by a Hanoi defender, and Viet Anh reacted swiftly with a precise low shot to break the deadlock.
The early setback only fueled U17 Hanoi’s attacking momentum. In the 34th minute, Hoang Phuc fouled Manh Duc inside the penalty area, earning the defending champions a spot kick. From the spot, Manh Quan converted with composure to level the score at 1-1. Shortly after, Manh Quan’s powerful strike was denied by the crossbar in the 43rd minute, but in stoppage time of the first half, Gia Huy capitalized on a defensive error to put Hanoi ahead 2-1.
The drama intensified right after the restart. In the 49th minute, Hong Anh latched onto a long pass and finished decisively to equalize 2-2 for U17 Thep Xanh Nam Dinh. However, just eight minutes later, Hanoi reclaimed the lead. Goalkeeper Quang Truong failed to hold onto Nguyen Luc’s shot, allowing Manh Quan to pounce on the rebound, completing his brace and restoring Hanoi’s advantage at 3-2.
In the remaining minutes, Hanoi took control of the game, playing solidly to preserve their advantage. U17 Thep Xanh Nam Dinh pushed forward in search of an equalizer but failed to make a breakthrough. In the end, Hanoi secured a 3-2 victory and claimed the championship for the second consecutive time.
