Vietnam women team completed the 2022 with the 34th place in the world
FIFA has just announced the women’s football rankings for the fourth quarter of 2022. Accordingly, the Vietnamese women’s team has completed this year 2022 with 34th place and 1643.66 points.
It can be seen that the outstanding achievement of the Vietnamese women’s team in 2022 is the impressive performance in the final round of the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup in India and excellently winning tickets to the 2023 World Cup (expected to be held at Australia and New Zealand on Aug 2023). In addition, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team continued to successfully defend the gold medal at the 31st SEA Games in May. The failure to get good results in the 2022 AFF Women Cup will be a valuable experience for the Vietnamese women’s team to continue to rejuvenate the human resources with new factors and have a drastic change forward to important tasks in 2023: Olympic Games (April), SEA Games 32 (May) and World Cup 2023 (August). It is expected that coach Mai Duc Chung’s team will gather again in March 2023 to continue preparing for these new goals.
In the continental arena, the Vietnamese women’s team continues to hold the sixth position. The top 10 in Asia on the fourth quarter rankings also continued to witness the stability of the Korea DPR women’s team (ranked 10th) at No. 1. The next positions belonged to Japan (ranked 11th), Australia (13th place, down 1 place), China (16th place, down 1 place), South Korea (17th, up 1 place), Vietnam (34th, down 1 place), Taipei China (40th, down 2 places), Thailand (41st), Uzbekistan (47th) and Myanmar (48th).
In the top 10 strongest teams on the FIFA rankings in the fourth quarter of 2022, in addition to the USA team continuing to hold the No. 1, the world continued to witness a spectacular comeback of the Sweden women’s team to the No. 2, pushing Germany to 3rd place. England and France women’s team continued to hold on to 4th and 5th place while Spain’s women’s team had a breakthrough to 6th place, pushing Canada and the Netherlands down to position 7,8. The two positions 9 and 10 continue to belong to the women’s team Brazil and Korea DPR.
