Head coach Park Hang-seo believes the Vietnam team can come back from goal down

“Both teams had pressure while playing with a difficult opponent. Unfortunately, the first goal was too soon and easy”.

“Van Thanh and Hong Duy did their job well. Of course, they had some mistakes but that is the normal thing in football”.

“I knew Vietnamese press talked much about the problem of using personnel in the team. We all know Thailand only used the substitute team in the match with Singapore to save the power. But in this match, we played better in the second half, which means that we had better physical strength. I set Cong Phuong and Van Toan played in the main tactics to take advantage in two wings. However, we couldn’t do it. Lost early, we had to play with two more strikers in the second half and had played better, but still could not score a goal” – Head coach Park Hang-seo said.

Talking about the next match, he said: “After this match, our assistants encouraged the players. The gap 2 goals still can go down. Tomorrow I will meet the players to discuss this match and plan for the second half. Vietnam still can lead the game back to the balance”.

About the referee issue, head coach Park Hang-seo shared that: “It’s very difficult for me to comment about the decisions of the referee. I just want to suggest that the VAR technical is popular now. We should use it to review the controversial situation. I hope that next season will have VAR to support referees”.
